Laelia lucasiana x Cattleya walkeriana -small, beautiful, fragrant!

I cheated. I haven't been able to bloom any of my rupics yet (two years trying), so I got this lucasiana cross. The plant has the paddle leaves of lucasiana, which I love. And it blooms for me, which I love even more. Add to that a spicy, walkeriana fragrance and you have the plant that has currently stolen my heart. :)

That certainly combines some of the best aspects of the parents, and now you have an over-achieving sibling to shame the non-bloomers with.
For hybrid registration, C. (L.) lucasiana is considered C. (L.) longipes, and C. (L.) longipes x C. walkeriana is C. (Lc.) Burgundy Sun. |
