So this trip had a lot of firsts for me.... It was my first time in Asia, the first time going to a country where I don't speak the language and my first solo international trip. I had an amazing time. The people in Taiwan are very friendly and social, the food is amazing, the architecture and temples were breathtaking. I definitely will be going back.... Oh and the orchid show was cool too lol

It has been over 20 years since my first trip to Taiwan, also on business, it changed my taste of American Chinese food to real Chinese food. I had the opportunity to go on regular trips back to Taiwan for 2 1/2 years sometimes every month for awhile and I always found something new and exciting! If you ever have a chance to use the train from Tien to Taipei, the country side is breathtaking and the massage parlors, well we won't go into that! I still email friends that I met there. Did not ever attend an Orchid show as I am not sure they were going on that long ago, if I am wrong about that please let me know.

wow.......never seen these before- Comparumnia Jiaho Girl - now on my list to get at least one in that genus. Thanks for posting.

@ orchidsarefun Surprisingly there were a bunch of Tolumnia type species/hybrids that I've never seen before. If only I could have brought some home 😑

Love the pictures! My family is from Taipei so I'm going to have to schedule a trip to coincide with this one year!

Did you take the High Speed Rail? If so, was it easy to get to the location once at the rail station?

I also love those Comparumnias--barely any google search results on those. It looks like they are crosses between Comparettias and Tolumnias? Very cool.
