Weird markings on my Iwan. Appleblossom
3 Attachment(s)
As I was wondering why this weird wasp keeps visiting my flowers, I found that one of my Iwan AB 'Golden Elf' flowers have this weird markings on it.
Strangely enough this is the only flower to have this colouration, any idea what caused it? Maybe the wasp gave it a tattoo... |
Pittara Appleblossom
(Caulaelia Snowflake x Thwaitesara Orange Nuggett) Prior: Iwanagaara Apple Blossom There they go again! Changing names on us! :faint: I'd be interested to hear other's opinions of what that "tattoo" is...I've never seen anything like that :scratchhead: |
A friend of mine hada similar "tatoo" on one of her Cattleyas last spring. Apparently, or at least this is the feedback she received at her Orchids Society and from the vendor, it was because either too big temp or humidity difference during the day, when that particular flower was developing - she also had that only in one of the flowers of a 6 flowers spike. The plant flowered again last fall, and none of the 12 flowers had a "tatoo"...

Mine is currently wallowing in self pity at the moment…but then again its having to endure the outdoors environment…someone here said its thrive or die. I like the tattoo it gives it a uniqueness…

Oh god not more changing names!
I kinda like it too, maybe it's temp difference, so far only this one has the marks.. I forgot to mention, in the 3rd picture there seems to be webbing, and it's a bit too big to be that of spider mites, so any idea what it could be from? |
