Onc. Sharry baby with only 1 spike!

I have a sharry baby that came to me last year, with 4 spikes. This year, it put up only 1spike. I have it next to my Jerry Pacific Empire, which now has 7 spikes! They are in front of an east facing window, and both are in an onc bark mic. What am I doing wrong?

Please share pictures and your growing conditions.
Otherwise, no one can help you with anything.

Possibly nothing wrong. Mine only has 1 spike. If you bought it with 4 spikes, it may have come from a grower where it got optimum conditions and are often forced into blooming.

Thank you for your replies. And in response to NYC's post, I thought describing the lightit gets, what media it's planted in, and where it's placed was describing it's growing conditions.

I have oncidiums that don't bloom on every growth either and I'm not entirely sure why. I think the growths may mature at the wrong time and not spike.

True, sorry.
How about watering? and how does the plant look? pictures can help a lot.
Did all four growths put up a new growth after flowering?

Oncidium hybrids generally do not have blooming season, but would just bloom whenever the growth matures.

If you do not water the plant enough at the wrong time of the new growth, then that alone is enough for no spikes.

Another one being lack of sufficient light.
Oncidiums need a lot of light and while eastern exposure may be bright enough for some, it may not be enough for others.

I got lucky with my Sharry Baby. Bought it last year with 2 spikes and it gave me 8 this year. I have a small greenhouse and I keep this one really watered plus it gets great humidity. It spends the summer in the shade house. My new growths are fat since I pour the water to it. I have got to either divide it or find a way bigger pot this spring.
