Anyone else have an Aerogarden?
Has anyone else tried one of these or any other hydroponics system?
I have been extra interested in trying hydroponics ever since one of our members gave a talk at our Orchid Society about growing her orchids hydroponically. I have seen greenhouses where food crops are grown this way and read articles but it always seemed so complex. Then, this Christmas, I received a gift card and while browsing yesterday, saw one of these kits. I bought it. It is built on a much smaller scale than what our speaker's systems are but it seems based on the same concept. So, anyone else trying hydroponics? |

I have 2 of the Aerogarden pro series , unfortunately , where i am the only store selling replacement parts stopped selling parts :( and seed kits , and ordering them online can get quite expensive , I have done , Tomatoes , peppers and strawberries , the machine has built in light timer and pump timer , I had great results when i used them , but now i use the lights and raise the hood , for my orchids as they grow . each bulb is 36 w and there is 3 of them . I am Not using the hydroponics aspect of it as i just simply removed the resovoir and just use the base and stand for my orchids , seedling size of course .
Good luck with your grows;) |
I am not certain that I will be fortunate enough to find more seed pods, either, without ordering them online. The store did have four kits, two tomato and one lettuce and a petunia so I took all but the petunia kit. It came with an herb kit.
At least you are putting those lights to good use. :) |
