This is the first vanda-type orchid I've ever had, so the fact that it only rebloomed with 2 flowers doesn't bother me too much. I'll aim for more next time! I've moved from an apartment with western facing windows to one with southern ones, so hopefully that helps.

This is so beautiful! How do you grow it? Indoors? In a vase culture or roots hanging free? I'm working on making my vandas happy in my apartment setting.
Thank you! It hangs in a small basket, most of the roots are growing every which way. I soak it every day because the humidity in my apartment is not ideal. Sometimes I leave it in the bucket soaking for 10 min, sometimes I forget about it and it's in there for much longer. I soak it in fertilized water once a week.
It seems very happy to me, tons of new roots, but I think it needed more light than my previous west-facing windows could provide to produce more than 2 flowers. |
Beautiful! Great growing!
What happened, did the buds blast? Or were there only two buds?
There were only two buds. There's a little nub where more buds looked like they were going to grow, but it just stopped.
That's gorgeous! Good growing to get blooms in a west window at all!
Lovely!

This cross is also known as 'Brighton's Moonbeam' registered by Brighton Orchids of Brisbane Australia. Unfortunately Brighton went out of business late last year.

Wow thats beautiful!! I grow my vandas indoors as well, they can bloom very well indoors with the right windows!
