My very weird phal and others

My phal 'Brother spring dancer' did something weird! It started to grow a keiki in october, and about a month ago I noticed 2 buds growing from the keiki! It's weird, they don't have a spike. The leaves are each about 2 inches long now. Anyone heard of this happening before??:hmm The buds appeared about 2 weeks after I added artificial lights. The keiki started to grow so fast then that I could nearly SEE it grow!

The 2 pics next one are Beallara Peggy Ruth Carpenter 'Morning Joy' The first flowers came out the normal purple color, and the rest were white. Very long lasting flowers, so I'm happy!!!

The last 2 pics are Burragearra 'Nelly Isler' This is my favorite orchid! There are 3 spikes in bloom, with an other 5 on the way. The spikes started to bloom 6 weeks ago, so I think I can expect to have flowers on the plant until february at least!! And the scent.... It's to die for. Smells like citrus-lemon and nutmeg. I want to eat the plant. The smell is so strong when it's warm and it nearly gives me a head ache!

Beautiful pics Camille! I have never seen a phal do that before but it's really cool looking! And the flower is so pretty! I can see why the Burragearra is your fav. That is such a long time to have flowers and it's fragrant to boot? Lucky! I am so jealous! I have fragrant orchids but none have bloomed for me yet. Maybe someday... :(

Too bad technology can't allow us to post scents yet!! I think we would have a wonderful time on OB. Aside from the stinkers.
The great thing about the Burr is that each spike lasts about 2 months from the moment the 1st flower opens, and since the spikes are at different stages that's how I figured that I should have blooms all winter long! :bowing
