I am indeed a lucky girl!
 

So my boss invited me to her river house in North Florida 2 weekends ago. I casually mentioned to her husband that I was looking for some hickory wood to mount orchids. Next thing I know, we see him leave in his pick-up truck and come back with 3 huge hickory logs. He and my boss spent a good amount of time cutting the hickory wood with an axe (and he with a chainsaw at some point. They filled 4 huge landscaper garbage bags with the wood. I have been slowly bringing it home in a carryon suitcase.

I acted like a woman receiving a diamond ring!! She and her husband laughed when I said I buy wood online and have to pay to have it shipped to me. I told her it was an embarrassment of riches!

Next time you are looking for wood, let me know. I have access to all kinds of hickory, white oak and hopefully this summer some very large wild grape vine.

I agree! She and I have a wonderful frienship outside of work. She's always insisting that I call her by her first name, even when at work (she's a judge and I'm her attorney) and she just stares and doesn't respond when I don't comply with her edict.

Beyond that, she's one of these genuinely nice people who, when you meet them, you can't quite believe how nice they are. Until one day you realize that they REALLY are as nice as they seem.
