Gongora cassidea
5 Attachment(s)
Here are pictures of my Gongora cassidea, when it flowered for me for the first time. I received a division as unidentified species from Costa Rica, that was grown in a friend's greenhouse.
Flowers are about 20 percent larger than those of galeata and amparoana, the closely related species in section Acropera. |
Gorgeous flowers and different from most Gongoras.

Very interesting! The colors are just delicious....the form is out of this world....and I was surprised by the dissection of the bloom to let us see the parts of the flower.

First time seeing this orchid, the color is so weird - awesome, like mixture of the sun during the sunset:-)
Awesome!
Its much more yellow ish where mine is brown and orange, I see the different now, thanks for sharing.
This is definitely the strangest of the Gongora. Any scent?
Yes, scented too.
