What the Heck is this? Fungus?

It's been a rainy, humid summer in South Florida. After 4 day of continuous rain I discovered this on a small phalaenopsis. Does anyone have any idea what it is? I'm thinking some kind of fungus maybe related to a mushroom.

White secretion covering the eggs gave the impression of a bird dropping.
Possible Reduviidae eggs.

Remove and destroy the plant in order to avoid the spreading of the pathogens to healthy plants.

It should wipe off and then use a little alcohol on the area.

Looks like a slime mold to me. If so, they are not pathogenic to plants.

tucker, I looked up all sorts of thins on the net and google images. It does seem to resemble slime mold

Cinnamon will kill slime mold. Wipe it off, and spray with a cinnamon "tea".
