Whimsy Orchids in Homestead, FL
 

This is a local place in the cluster of Homestead, FL orchid growers. The man who owns and operates the place is very knowledgeable, and pretty much primarily grows species and hybrids of cattleyas and tolumnias. He also has a bunch of skomburgias, something I don't really see often. Most of these plants are specimen-sized. If you're in Homestead when he's open I recommend checking it out. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to have a website or anything.

Thanks for the recommendation. I live in Ft. Lauderdale and I get to Homestead several times a year. I've visited many of the growers down there but I've never been to Whimsy. I've heard some members of my orchid society mention Whimsy also. The next time I get to Homestead I'll stop in to see them. I assume he'll be at the Redlands festival also.

He's one of the people in charge of it.

He specializes in Schomburgkias, something I've never seen often.
