Aerangis Fastuosa
3 Attachment(s)
Good evening OB,
I'm still catching up and sorting through photos at the moment and I realised that I hadn't posted this one yet. A first bloom for me on this little one. The flowers lasted a lot longer than I thought but the scent wasn't anywhere near as strong as I thought it would be (but it did get stronger after the flowers had been open a week or so) |
Cute little flowers....can you describe the fragrance?

Very pretty!

The first time my Aerangis fastuosa bloomed (5-6 flowers) the frangrance was intensely jasmine-like in the early evening. The second time (fewer flowers) the fragrance wasn't very intense at all.

Really pretty flowers.

Beautiful flowers. They are my choice of all the other colors.
I have noticed that relative humidity plays a big role in the scent along with time of day. Flowers that are pollinated at night are more aromatic at night i.e. B. nodosa and scents are less in a heavy humid area. I have a gardenia bush in the landscape that emits no scent as you walk by but cut flowers and bring them indoors with the air conditioning running and they have a powerfully potent scent that fills the room. |
