KultureShock is no-longer a store. Revamping to a tissue culture super resource.
 

In light of the recent trouble i've been having i have decided to stop selling pre-mixed products. Instead KultureShock will now focus on Home tissue culture. I will be putting up a forum for tissue culture enthusiasts to come together and help eachother with any problems they may be facing. I will also be creating a tissue culture super resource complete with a free PDF tissue-culture library that will include information and protocols on as many plants as i can gather.

If anyone would be interested in helping me with this project or if you have any protocols you would like added to the library please contact me i would love the help!

p.s. i will still be selling the hormones and lanolin paste for those of you interested in mixing the paste yourself. (it is incredibly easy) I just cannot legally mix them together and sell them myself.

Oh yea and the site will not be back online for probably around two weeks while i make all the changes.

The laws are SO screwy about such stuff.

You can sell the ingredients, but if you DARE to mix them, it's a new product, so has to be regulated - at much cost.

In the US you may not even be able to buy the ingredients. For example, the EPA has decided that indolebutyric acid should be regulated under FIFRA. To purchase IBA that has not been blessed by the EPA you will need to certify that it is for experimental use only; greenhouse or hobby uses are not allowed. The EPA sent cease and desist letters to a number of chemical vendors and even fined a few for selling IBA that was being used in the greenhouse trade and that had not been registered with the EPA under FIFRA.

Seriously???? :shock: Wow. It's good for things to be regulated to an extent, but this is just beyond ridiculous. I don't know what the situation is like over there though, it may very well be the same.

And David's post is what has had me a bit nervous about the project. The laws are so convoluted and screwy that for the normal person it's impossible to understand.

exactly, doesn't make a lick of sense in my opinion but oh well such is life. At least i am still aloud to distribute them at all.


As for the indole-butyric acid thing, does anyone know if that applies to me sending it from canada to the US. Or is that just for people selling it out of the US?

No doubt, i have looked into the regulations on the hormones were using in the project and as far as i can tell it shouldn't be a problem. Also if i send it as a gift i think it bypass's the whole getting in trouble for selling it thing(correct me if im wrong).... but really me spending a few hours researching the laws doesn't mean much i most likely missed something somewhere lol
