Fertilizer 3-1-2 ratio
The ratio 3-1-2 (N-P2O5-K2O) is currently describe as the ideal ratio for foliage development. Is it able to make flower an orchid if I use a such ratio all the year ?
On the fertilyser market, for what I know only the 9-3-6 of Dyna-Grow exists (if there still exists). |

You have obviously done some research and if you feel this ratio is best for you, I suspect you may have to find a source "off shore" to purchase it. There are several members of this forum who are very knowledgeable on where to find orchid products and will ship to your country. Ray, of First Ray Orchids, I would put on the top of my list. Good luck, CL |
The more I learn about plant nutrition, the more I understand that managing the amount applied is more important than the formula - within limits - and that less is better than more.
Your 3-1-2 product is fine, as long as it also provides the secondary and trace minerals. |
3-1-2 and 9-3-6 are basically the same levels, just different dilutions… ;)
Now, the devil is in the details, it'd be interesting to know what's in it also and compare. The number are not everything, how you use them and what it means for the other elements is too. |
Yes your orchids will bloom very well using a 3-1-2 formula. It's a good formula to use all year long.

Dynagrow 9-3-6 is a darn good product and will grow fine plants as the above posters agree. It was originally developed for hydroponics. You might consider supplementing it with some liquid seaweed once or twice a month.

Thank you Orchid 126. This is what I am doing since one year with the MSU with great succes.I asked this question because I am looking to decrease the K in my orchids regime. A 3-1-2 ratio sames to me to be a good alternative.
