A book on Aerangis - Feedback

Hi friends,

Just want to poll the general interest in a book specifically looking at Aerangis, with pictures of complete plants, culture information and habitat information. I have been corresponding with Isobyl laCroix on this idea, and she mentions that Timber press is interested but wants to gauge the interest for this type of book first. Please feel free to post comments and suggestions of what you would like to be included, as well as whether you'd be interested! Thanks!

I know you mentioned this in your post, but I would love this kind of book to have pictures of the whole plant not just the flower. It's so frustrating not seeing the foliage when that's what I'm going to be looking at most of the time.

I absolutely agree - and in fact, that was one of the things that Isobyl was saying she was going to try and have!

I am absolutely interested in this and I know a couple other people which a book like this would make a wonderful present for!
I need to write to Isobel about an E.African one I have I am planning to do this soon but need to find the photos etc first.

I would love to have a book specifically on Aerangis. I have her book on African Orchids and it is a great resource. I like her structure and all the energy she put into climate and geography.

I find that often my favorite part of books on orchids is the history and anecdotes contained in the first 30-50 pages before the species by species break down. Though to be perfectly honest, if the proposed book covered absolutely no new ground, I would get it for the pictures alone.

Radio - I know exactly what you mean. If you can get a hold of Hillerman's books; he always have such awesome descriptive passages.

Thanks for all the feedback and keep it coming! The bigger the response, the more likely we can get this pushed through
