Hey Everybody!

My Paph FINALLY BLOOMED!!!!! It has taken 5 years of frustration and love... I almost threw it out 2 years ago after some sunburn. (and also because I was just plain MAD at the plant!!!) It started its summer outdoors here in North Carolina, but I think it was just too hot, so its totally an indoor plant now. Its growing in osmunda (of all things!) and I'm not quite sure how it is doing so well, but I'll go with it! It came from an orchid show a long time ago, and I can remember falling in love with the spots!

(Funny thing- My friend Erica also got a Paph from the same show, and her plant is also finally blooming now after 5 years!!!)

I'm so excited to see it bloom again!!!!!!! (I've never had luck with the green-leaved Paphs!):biggrin::biggrin:

The tag reads: Paph. Winston Churchill 'Indomitable' FCC/AOS X Thunder Eagle 'Petal Power'

PS- The lip doesn't have a perfect shape, but who cares... :)

Wow,I think it awesome. Did you get it as a seedling? I know the owner of deerwood orchids and he told me many of his paph crosses take 4-5 year to first bloom.

Your bloom might just look a little off because it's a first bloom and every bloom after should get better and better.

No, it wasn't a seedling... it was actually in bloom when I got it. And I recall that the pouch also had a slightly off-shape then as well. Maybe they will improve as the plant gets older???

It might, it might also be genetic but I wouldn't worry about it. It is a awesome bloom!
