Cymbidium spike rotted. Now what?
So, my first Cym spike has rotted (not first ever, it bloomed last year, I mean first to rot.) I've pulled it out and off the plant, but is there anything else I should do? I don't want the rot to spread. The rest of the plant seems healthy still. The background to all of this is that I had to unexpectedly move house during the summer, and am now growing in less-than-ideal conditions so am concerned about the longer term health of my orchids.
Any more experienced cym growers, please let me know what to do!!! Thanks! Kay xx |
Are you able to post pix of the plant?
What conditions is it growing in? I'm a bit baffled as to what may have caused that - my Cyms sit out in cold nighttime winter rain, and spikes haven't been harmed. I'm sooo not an expert, however, so maybe some of our cym experts will chime in ... |
