Potinara leaf never seems to open!

Ok you guys and gals know your stuff, what's up with this?

I rescued an orchid from Lowes in the late Spring. Its a Potinara Kozo's Scarlet 'Vi-Emi' SM/JOGA. It had a new leaf so damaged it had to be severed. Then it got another new leaf about 3 months ago......WHY WON'T IT OPEN?

It gets a morning sun but only for about 30 minutes, then moderate to bright light all day, NE window, I spray it every morning and water 2 X a week since its dry as a bone in Denver with little to no humidity. Its on a humidity tray which I religiously keep full.

See pic, the new leaf is the one on the left of the pic.

I am going to try to put a 2nd pic on here showing some new growth I just noticed and the lovely roots.

Hmmmmmmmmm, no pics in last post, will try again.

Tried 3 times, maybe something is wrong with the system or my computer, it worked earlier! LOL>

Sometimes the leaves just stall then poof, they're open. You might try giving it more light.

the leaf has been there so long unopened maybe that is has hardened. the leaves are very soft when they sprout. As time goes by they harden up. If its been there a long time my guess is it has hardened and will not open.:twocents:

I have experienced such deformed leaves a lot for new purchases. Don'w worry about it. As long as good roots are coming, eventually it will get stronger. Even the pseudobulb can photosynthesis anyways...
