Phallies my way ( small )
I'm the first to say my growing conditions don't or wouldn't suit Phallies. Maybe I have to rethink this thought.
1st pic is a plant I deflasked 20/11/2010. I repotted it from a 50mm pot today into a 65mm pot & found a spike !!!! 2nd & 3rd pics are of Phal. Sogo Vivien in a 60mm pot, 4th pic is Phal. Ho's Little Caroline in a 60mm pot. They are growing in 3 parts coarse perlite & 1 part composted small pine bark. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/IMG_0576.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/IMG_0579.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/IMG_0577.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/IMG_0578.jpg |
They look happy - congrats on your flowering.
What are you potting in Roy? |
Thanks. I'm potting in 3 parts coarse perlite & 1 part small composed bark.

wow - that's great! charming bloom! :wtg:
what is it about your climate that Phals don't like? |
The light in the house is more intense than what 'm used to by way of genuine Phalaenopsis growers. I've had a rethink on this and see the benefits of the light. The problem is that the plants ( even though they are by breeding ) dwarf & harden up too quickly, thus small spike & low flower counts.
