Rhynchostylis gigantea (Rare Peach Color)
Finally my special Rhy is in flower and what a great show, color and aroma. There native to Thailand, has thick fleshy leaves up to 3" wide and 12" long with a curious notch in the end of the leaf. I grow it with my Vandas but more on the shade side.:)
The sprays emerge from between the leaf axils like phals. Each spray have over 20 flowers. At the begining the flowers open with a white background overlaid in peach, after the flowers have been open for a week the color darkens into a nice peachy glow. The flowers are streamly fragrant citrus aroma. I have other colors that are not fully open yet (I will post pics when they are in full bloom;) ) but this one is really rare and have an awsome peach color:biggrin: http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...Jan2011098.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...011/701014.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...011/701013.jpg |

It is beatiful, I've got another year or two before mine blooms and I also hope it's at least half as nice as yours.

That's really cool. We had a typical colored one brought into our last society meeting and it smelled so great! Yours looks incredible, I want one.
