Cattleya walkeriana var. flammea 'Tokutsu'
1 Attachment(s)
“Variety Flammea” refers to the flares along the length of the petals and sepals. So far, this mericlone of C. walkeriana var. flammea 'Tokutsu' GM/JOGA has had different coloration with each flowering. Previous flowers had light blushes with very little “flame” or heavy blushes with no flame. This time, they look more like what the parent plant is best known for.
The coloration of C. walkeriana ‘Tokutsu’ flowers is heavily influenced by temperature. Daily high temperatures were 10 to 20 degrees lower when the buds of these flowers were developing compared to average high temperatures when previous buds developed. |
WOW, it's lovely.

Thanks for your kind comments!
And mab3362, I hope you'll have some winners among those budding plants. I know just what that anticipation is like. One of the things I love about walkerianas (among other orchids) is the amazing variety within the species. No two seedlings have flowers exactly alike. |
Gorgeous! I love this plant!
