OB Glossary rocks!
I found a tag on what I thought was a NOID vanda I recently got from a friend! It is V Mary Foster which is the product of V merrillii x V sanderiana var alba.
I was wondering what the name is when two sepcies are combined and was going to post my question...but decided to check it out in our glossary instead. There it was: Primary Hybrid...thanks to Dave (Oscarman) :bananaslide: The amount of info here at OB continues to astound me!!! |
Me too. Sometimes I get lazy though...
|
Wait! Hybrids are being listed in the glossary?
|
Easy there Tindo!........we do not have a plant registry in the Glossary. That would a monumental task, and OrchidWiz, WildCatt and the RHS site do a much better job.
Sue was refering to the name given when one orchid species is crossed with another orchid species = primary hybrid Thanks for compliment Sue - there has been a great deal of time put into the glossary and it only at 100 terms. All submissions are welcome, if anyone sees something missing....or incorrect. My main focus now is to link a picture with each term. |
In the glossary it should say that the singular form of species is species... :fight
*grin* edit: Oh darn, you fixed it before I got my fighting words in... |
