Hi fellows. This was sold to me as Vanda Coerulea. But I think the petals are very round. Still Coerulea has nice varietions on flower type but I would really appreacite some help identifying it.

Other than that damn! What a stunning flower I got! :D

It does look like an alba variation of it. I love love love the delicate coloring.

doesn't have enough purple, that is a beautiful white one. Start looking at the albas.

I think it is a true V. coerulea due to the can opener like side lobe when viewed from the side of the flower. Hybrids have shorter lower projection than the true species. Unless the plant is over back crossed to a V. coerulea. Another sign it is a true V. coerulea is when the pollen is taken, the flower turns white. Hope this helps

I see no reason to doubt it is V. coerulea. Petal shape and stance and lip comformation all look correct to me. Nice form and fantastic albescent coloring.

Hello,

as written by Ramon, the side lobes are essential to identify V. coerulea.

Is that possible to have a close pictures of side lobes ?

The side lobes are rejected on the back on V.coeruela and they end like hooks. From what I can see, those characteristics can be found on your flowers.

But on some close hybrids, those characteristics are found too. So you have to check the hooks : the hooks have to be sharp. On V. coerulea, hooks on lobe sides are sharp and after only one cross, this characteristic disappears.

A last thing that is, easily seen on Veekay's photo above, is that the angle of leaves is much more open that others Vanda.

Anyway, it is a stunning. If it is a V. coerulea, it would be the var semi-alba with nearly white petals-sepals and blue lip. The alba form is all white, including lip.

Yes yes!

Indeed the side lobes are hooked! I will try the pollen thingie and see how it goes thanks a lot guys!

Also it started all white and thought it was pure alba form and then its gaining color after all of them opened.

I'm so thrilled abut my pretty vanda :D
