Help to identify this Cattleya
1 Attachment(s)
I bought this Cattleya with a missing tag and the flower almost at the end of the life. Is large about 6 inches, color yellow with the lip in purple, was in bloom in Feb.
Any idea what is the name? Here is a pic. Thanks :waving |
Impossible to identify with certainty. It's a Noid.

Species can be identified, but hybrids are so variable and there are so many of them that correct identification is impossible and attaching a name to them because a person thinks it looks like a certain hybrid is irresponsible.

Beautiful flower, there are so many great cattleyas, they are my favorite, with such showy blooms. Enjoy!

Fully back the statement about being irresponible to attach a name to something thats not 100% that plant.
However, I do think you could do your own investigating and come up with your own set of determinants and I will help you in that direction. It looks to me very much like a Blc. Chunyeah. Look that up, look up the hybrids that comprise it and hybrids using that as a parent and Im certain you could find somewhere to settle. |
Thanks Carol,
For looking at my questions, apparently we have the same growing conditions, you are in Vero Beach, I'm here is West Palm Beach. Thanks again |
