Red-lipped, green Phal NOID
2 Attachment(s)
:waving Hi Everyone! I haven't been on in a while, for various reasons, but I'm back!
I've been very good for over 6 months now not buying a single orchid. But today I was buying groceries at Safeway and this little gem caught my eye. Unfortunately it is a NOID, but it was so enchanting that I couldn't resist! Luckily the roots are really healthy too! The color is so hard to capture, but it's sort of like key lime pie or mint ice cream. The lip is this gorgeous fuschia raspberry hue and there are speckles of the same color on the lower petals. I wish I could capture the true colors of this flower for you! Neither of the below pictures is really accurate. The second is close, but doesn't show the full depth of color. |
Good to see you again! 6 months without a new orchid!!
That's a nice plant, one that probably would have followed me home too. Well, maybe, I've started to bring plants in and the little devils have multiplied this summer!! How can that be? LOL |
Very cute! & welcome back!

Really nice, I wouldn't have been able to resit it either. Welcome back :waving

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! It's good to be back!
Yes, I managed to go quite some time without buying any orchids at all. One reason is my house is packed with them. Another is I still live with my parents during the summer and next summer I may be interning somewhere (not sure where, yet), so I'll have to leave my parents in charge of ALL my plants istead of the few I leave when I go to school. I've wittled down my collection to a fairly manageable amount, I think. :blushing: And I felt the need for more biodiversity, so I actually stopped getting orchids to find some other houseplants. |
Just out of curiosity what house plants have you got that your leaving in your parents care? My lounge is "full" of plants orchids & houseplants..

I don't think I have many plants, but my parents and friends seem to disagree.
