My Vanda Sanderiana Alba
Hi good day/evening to everyone,
You may wonder why I posted my plant for an ID here since it's already identified. But, may I ask for an opinion to our fellow experts here? I know (or we) Vanda Sanderiana has 3 variation. I just wanna know, on what variation my plant belongs to? And also is it possible a sanderiana x'd with other vanda would produce a bloom without spur on lip? because some say this vanda is crossed with something (dunno) but I strongly believe that this is a pure bred since as you can see on the pic, there's no hint of spur on its lip (cupped indeed) http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/9...0420101113.jpg http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/2...0420101120.jpg Answers and inputs are all welcome. Thank You |
Personally, I wouldn't call it 'alba' from the plants/pics I've seen. It may be a selfing of an 'alba' sanderiana which indicates it doesn't breed true.

It is not an alba form of Vanda sanderiana. The alba form is white with light green stripes. And only white, yellow and green are accepted to name a plant "alba".
Otherwise, for myself, I think it could be a Vanda sanderiana. The lip and general shape are matching. I have also previously seen forms with those colors too. But not sure 100%. |
