I Was Very Bad!

Yes I was very bad today.... Normally I don't post stuff like this 'cause it just isn't my personality to show off what I purchase but I ordered some chids from a vendor in Hawaii (list attached).... it's my 2nd order. The first was just a trial run and I only got 4 Paphs. They were just wonderful.... packed perfectly in excellent condition and 3 of them had multiple fans of new growth in 4" pots and at a very reasonable price! I expect them Friday morning. Some will be in spike. However, I'm expecting most will not at this time of year. So does anyone live close to me with a greenhouse... I think I'm really gonna need some space this fall!!!! And NO, I'm not sending any to you Susie Q..... that pool might just scar the Bee Geezers out of them!!!!

Paph Fairy Dell
Paph. chamberlainianum
Paph. Grant Szabo
Paph Spicy Bull
Paph venustum (Blatant x 'Constant')
Paph Druid Spring
Paph Tom Fujiwara
Lycaste shimayuki
Lycaste Kurt Servos
Lycaste macrophylla
Paph. Deperle x glaucophyllum
Paph. Conestoga
Paph. Lynleigh in Pink
Cattleianthe Sky Blue Brazil
Paph. Lynleigh Koopowitz
Paph. Heron's Faire

Care to share your excellent source Howard?

natasha 06-23-2010 03:35 AM

that's what me and my neighbour do all the time. we brag about our purchases, even though we go to buy together!

anyway, what is Cattleianthe?

Angurek 06-23-2010 03:59 AM

Ah, I see you were followed home. Think of it this way: the plants just hacked into your bank account and found their way to you. It was all just an accident, right?

Looks like an interesting list, even though I have no idea what any of them look like (save Paph. chamberlainianum, P. Lynleigh Koopowitz, and P. venustum). The one that piques my curiosity is Paph. Spicy Bull. Interesting name for a slipper, to say the least. :)

Edit: I just looked into it. It's a hybrid between spicerianum and Mount Toro.

...

Er, Howard, buddy...this wouldn't happen to be that secret source, would it?

Lehua Orchids - Paphiopedilum, Masdevallia and Angraecum breeding, hybridizing and growing. Miltoniopsis, Miltonia, and Zygopetalum are also grown for the orchid resale market.

Cattleianthe is a Cattleya Alliance plant (Mini Purple x bowringiana). this one looks like many of the "Blue" colored Cattleya, i.e. Memoria Robert Strait, Lc. Gaskell-Pumila 'Azure Star', Lc. C. G. Roebling 'Sentinel'.

And yes Lehua is the vendor. Didn't mean to lead anyone to think this was a "secret"... sorry. Graham is more than happy to go the distance to offer great Paphs and other chids.
