This Alcra. (Aliceara) Pacific Nova "Butter Buds" has leaf issues. I've had it about a year now. Initially was in spike and had bloom shown but none since. It grow in G/H ~70% humidity temps 65-85 and southern indirect light varies 2-4000 fc, no shadecloth (under an oak tree). Fertilize weekly weekly. Any thoughts as to what to try? Thanks. :)

I think your water is high in mineral/salt content. The rest of the plant looks fine, though the pseudobulbs look a bit shriveled.

Try repotting the plant into fresh medium. If you have to water with poor quality water, give the plant a good soaking each time so all the salts leach out. :)

How often to you water?

These flower only once a year so it is getting to be blooming season for them.

It looks like it is suffering from insufficient water. Soak it heavily when watering and then let it dry between waterings.

The little black spots are common and harmless. You will not be able to prevent them.

The dark brown tip may be a fungus that also is not particularly harmful but can spread. Just cut it off.

Thank you for the help. I water 1-2 x /week and yes, I think salt build up may be a problem. I haven't rinsed out the plants between fertilizing. I don't think much about the water quality although I haven't tested it. I though about a reverse osmosis system like under my sink but never anticipated the need.
