Is there a hope???

Hi everyone! Yesterday, I bought beautiful phalaenopsis orchid from one of those big-box store. I didn't realize until later that the stem was bent, but not completely broken. Being desperate, I decided to tape it and hoped for the best. However, this morning I noticed blooms are welting! Is there a hope for this phal? I am worried about those buds. Is there anything I can do to restore this beautiful phal? Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It looks like it's just the blooms above the tape that are wilted, so that's nothing to worry about. Bending the spike has probably cut off the flow of sap up to the top the spike, and puttin it upright will not fix the damage. You'll probably lose those blooms, but as long as the plant stays healthy, you can look forward to new spikes in the future!

I agree. Also, when this happens the plant will sometimes send out anther spike and continue blooming (ask me how I know :(()

When this happened to me I moved the butterfly claw above the bend, lost a few blooms but the buds flourished. Let the phal process in it's own way without cutting the stem if and when the blooms demise and if the stem does not slowly die it should pull an anther spike and continue blooming again. As for the phal plant itself, should do no harm. Good luck, I am sure it will recover.

It could also be suffering from a little bud blast ... due to the change in environment .. allow it to adapt to it's new home and it will perk up :) (you might lose a bud or two but the plant is still good and will rebloom :) )
