Help needed to salvage plants

Hi I bought some orchids from a local nursery.
The plants looked pretty ok except for the fact that the characteristic roots of epiphytes were missing.
This surprised me.
When I reached home I dug them up to inspect.
What I found horrified me.
Each plant was planted small container that was in turn burried in the larger pot.the pot was filled with a potting medium that looked manure. What I understand is that some novice had try to take care of the over grown (epiphytic)roots byreplanting it in a bigger pot.
The roots that were burried in this medium have started rotting and so also parts of the psudo bulb.
What I have done is I have removed the small containers with the plants and put them in the open so that they dry up and the roots get a chance to breath.
I hope u understand what I am talking about.
would like to have your view on it.

Dev.

may i ask what orchid your referring to? you said manure.. hmmm weird! that's the first time I've heard someone uses manure! lol at least its not coming from someone's crap! lol! hmmm... yeah let it dry i suppose maybe you could give it a daily mist. and if you suspect any root damage maybe you could spray on some fungicide or a light dust on cinnamon would help kill the bacteria around. are there still live roots in it? maybe next time you'll post a pic so we could assess the degree of severity in your plant.

if the psuedobulb has started rotting there wont be much that will help it....dust the pb with cinnamon after a peroxide bath....that might dry it out some. good luck!

Dev, I would try to return it first of all, nobody should sell dying plants, I agree with dounoharm, though.

Either way best wishes :D

Maybe remove the rotting roots and bulb, spray with a fungicide then. I'm assuming theres more than the one bulb on the plant.
