Habenaria Sp. Laos.

Unknown Habenaria species discovered in Laos I bought from Rusty Exotic.
But that deep orange is so interesting, it draws me into it.

I have many corn/bulb orchdids but none of them do as well as the Habenaria, they absolutely do not mind my 100 degree. It never drops a single bud in this crazy heat. I think I will collect more of these from now on.

It's a terrific genus. I have found them to mostly be pretty easy to grow. When they're dormant, they don't take up much space in the house (most like some warmth in winter...do water lightly), and even in full growth relatively compact. Will show a few pix soon.

Such a strong colour, so unexpected when the majority I've seen have been white, green and yellow.
Beautiful.
