Cycnoches nubs mid-pseudobulb

My Cycnoches Golden Showers is coming out of dormancy. I see six nub-buds on the two pseudobulbs, but only one is at the base. The others are 2 or 3 inches up! How should I proceed here? Lay them down hot-dog style in a big pot of medium? I remember seeing Stephen Van-Kampen Lewis doing in a similar situation — was this successful? Other suggestions?

If your growing area is extremely humid they will be fine. If not I would place it sideways so the distance from the roots to the medium is shorter.

Yes, the technique works well for me! I'll show a video of the two sideways Cycnoches on Saturday.

Thanks! It is NOT humid here right now. I grow indoors in the Northeast US during winter (temps 55-65 F in my house, 20-30% humidity) but then the orchids go outside for the summer. It can be beastly humid then.

Can't wait to see the video, Stephen!
