how to get a hold of peruflora...?
Hello,
Has anyone had luck contacting peruflora? My last order had items missing and I've been trying to get info on the rest of my order / refund of missing items. I've had difficulties getting in contact with them over the last two months via email or through paypal payment disputes. |
Their last facebook update is Fri 12-Nov-2021. Been a while. Hopefully they're ok.

I sent them an order for Tamiami and have not received a response (the order was just email of spreadsheet, no money involved). So I also hope they are OK...
I got the email about preorders for shipping from Tamiami on 12/8 . So perhaps they are out of "email" range for some time. |
They were relatively responsive until I received my package. I asked about the missing items or refund about the missing items and then... silence for months. I don't know how many emails I've sent... I always try to be professional but I am exhausted with them.
I was hoping to resolve things amicably but there is a time limit on payment disputes (which has long passed now). It is disappointing. |

What city are they in? I can try to look at local newspapers.

They are in Lima; if you're ever in the city, the nursery is worth going to [especially if you are there in the springtime when it's Phragmipedium flowering season :) ], but ditto what the others have said about s-l-o-w response times. So far as I know, this is Manolo's correct personal address, you might try it [if you haven't already]: manoloarias10@yahoo.com
You might also try shooting Motes Orchids a note to see if they have any ideas--they are heavily involved in the organization of Tamiami, so might know a way to reliably contact Peruflora [or have a suggestion about dealing with getting a refund...] Good Luck [and keep us posted]! |

Unfortunately, Peruflora took my money and never sent the appropriate plants many years ago. I sent a few emails to them for about a year or so and they never responded, which seems to be a very common occurrence for them when talking to other growers.
I suspect you won't get your money back or plants to make up for missing items in your shipment. It's best to only get plants from them at shows and not to place an order with them. It's too bad because they have some of the coolest plants you'll ever encounter. When they mess up a tag on a plant, you often get a brand new species that is unknown to science or recently described! |
