Find local orchid lovers for trading
 

Hello,

This is my first post here :) I live in Urbandale, Iowa, and I hope to find local orchid lovers to trade orchids. I have several seedlings of Dendrobium Red Emperor 'Prince' for trade. They will bloom this winter. I also have more than 20 different orchids (Cattleya, milto, oncidium), and can trade them after a couple of years. I look for all types of orchids (phrags are my dream). Thanks!

Orchid Societies are perfect for meeting other orchid people. I have to travel a while to get to the nearest one here in Ohio (Greater Akron Orchid Society) but it only meets eleven times a year so it is usually doable. Currently, it has been meeting with Zoom so I haven't had to go anywhere which has been great.

I found two orchid societies in Iowa:

Central Iowa Orchid Society

and the Eastern Iowa Orchid Society

If these are too far away, sometime people are willing to meet half-way to exchange orchids. You can also see if the orchid societies are Zooming the meetings. A few societies that have resumed meeting in person still Zoom them for those from far away who began attending them last year. Hope this helps!
