Sold as Green Ludisia? Help
1 Attachment(s)
Hi Everyone,
I would appreciate some help narrowing down an ID for this jewel I just got from High Desert Orchids. It was sold as a Ludisia Discolor "green" but they mentioned in the comments that it may actually be an anectochilus hybrid. Is anyone familiar with this plant and recognize it? Photo is attached of the one I got in the mail today. Thank you! |
It looks like a ludisia discolor to me, based on the couple I've seen in the past. However I've not grown this one. Someone should be along with plenty of culture notes soon, if they also agree its ludisia :)

I have a Ludisia discolor that looks like that. But I'll let others supply the culture information, my success rate with Jewel Orchids isn't great.
|
For its culture, key factors are: warm temps and low light, lessthan phals.
It is a terrestrial so an appropriate mix is needed. |
they also like semihydro

I've grown a decent amount of jewels, but I am confused with this one. The veining doesn't look like a ludisia discolor v alba, but it has similar veining to a standard which has thrown me off. I think I'll just have to wait for it to mature to see what it does as I have never heard of Green as a cultivar name. If anyone else has any thoughts on my take please share

Increase light to see what happens. Maybe it will turn red.
