Flower spike starting on Den. Tiny Bubbles?

1 Attachment(s)
I have a Den. Tiny Bubbles, a cross between Den. Maiden Charlotte and Den. aberrans. Den. Maiden Charlotte is a primary cross between Den. rhodostictum and Den. aberrans. This makes Den. Tiny Bubbles to be 75% Den. aberrans and 25% Den. rhodostictum.

A new growth is developing nicely with two leaves... and there's something in the middle. A flower spike? How long does it take to develop? How long does the flower spike get?

It's a flower spike. Development time depends on temperature, watering and humidity, so it's hard to predict.

:dance: Yay! I'm sooo happy! What temp, how much water, and humidity will help have the best possible spike? My conditions during the wintertime are usually 68°F day and 65°F night, 45-50% humidity (I suspect more than that when I wash the dishes). It's on a bark mount (not sure what tree but definitely not cork) and I spray some water on the moss each day (necessary for the rhodostictum side, less so for aberrans which should be lessened through winter). Light is from an east window with an awning blocking most of the mid-morning and midday sun and supplemental fluorescent light. Do I need to change anything?

There is no guarantee that will produce a flower spike just yet. It will produce a flower spike when it is mature enough to do so. Could be months, could be years even.

I don't want to sound pessimistic, I'm in the same boat waiting for some of my Dandrobiums like Atroviolaceum to bloom for the first time, Canes get longer and longer, then thicker and thicker and with every new cane you hope it is the "one" that will make it mature enough.
