we were in the greenhouse and smelled this weird smell. we liked this guy but when the smelled him it was like ugg you smell like pot. it was fairly strong too and its not blooming so I bet it always smells like that.

Interesting! They should do a study on that plant heheh ...... in case it has the so-called 'medicinal benefits'.

for sure. my wife and I don't like the smell of pot so we passed. but we wanted one it is a nice looking plant. it is said iti s good for warding off bugs and such.

It does look nice. I wonder if they mis-labeled it ----- because when I'm doing a search for this plant on the internet, the results for Plectranthus neochilus look nothing like the plant in your photo. Or at least - most of the searches for this plant returns results that are quite different. Only the ones that are on 'ebay' appear to look like the one in your photo.

your right now this describes the sent. but there are no pics Plectranthus neochilus - Wikipedia
its a succulent though not a herb.

SouthPark 06-10-2019 05:13 PM

It is a bit weird ----- that's for sure, because the internet searches is showing up with conflicting information. Some sites indicating herb - mint family. Other sites indicating succulent. Looks like somebody, or some group didn't get their act together at one stage - leading to some confusion. One site even says herb succulent hahaha.

Maybe the tag is correct. If the leaves are 'velvety' and thickish, and doesn't smell great ----- then that'll be it hahaha.

yes maybe the smelled the plant too much before they wrote it up. iti s zone 8 so we cant have it outside. I love succulents and they grow in our crappy soil well.
