NYCorchidman 01-29-2015 03:53 PM

Leafmite 01-29-2015 07:51 PM

bethmarie 01-30-2015 11:23 AM

TOMMYMIAMI 01-30-2015 01:39 PM

Beautiful, always loved this one but killed it! The color is just amazing!

JKeys 01-31-2015 09:44 PM

Wonderful! I used to have one of these but sadly it died :( I'm happy you are having more luck

LovePhals 02-01-2015 06:15 PM

Thank you SO much everyone for the comments! So far it seems to be an easy grower for me, hopefully it continues to like my environment. Do you know what happened to yours so that I do not make the same mistake?

debrasoon 02-01-2015 06:25 PM

Beautiful. The only other orchid I really want to get!

I got two more buds on this one that just opened, a bit further down on the same cane that bloomed before. I am giving it pretty high light in my south window and it is blooming like crazy for me, free flowering!

camille1585 04-30-2015 08:18 AM

That's great!!! :) Sonya is the one who also 'enabled' me to get one. I say photos of hers, and just HAD to buy one immediately. So I bought one in early october, and I'm happy to say that it's got big fat buds now! Mine also sits in a south window.

Sonya offered me this plant, but I said no. How stupid!

I like free flowering plants and I love blue! :)

What is your winter low at your growing condition?
I know you haven't had winter with this dendrobium, but I think I read it is from high land in Phillippines and somehow stayed away from it thinking it needs a cool winter or overall cool environment.

camille1585 05-10-2015 03:51 PM

Mine is blooming now and stayed on the shelves in the living room all winter, in front of a south facing window. The temperature never went lower than 16-17C. And I kept watering it, though just enough to keep the canes plump.

Daethen 05-10-2015 06:46 PM

I swear mine is a permanent seedling.

LovePhals 05-10-2015 07:10 PM

My winter low was 60, I got it in October so it did spend winter with me. Lots of sun in my south window.

Good to know the min temp.
I think I can do that low.

Inject some growth hormone and see what happens!

I didn't have time to calculate it yesterday, but that's 60F. That's only at night though, and since the winter was really mild, the low was more often around 65f

NYCorchidman 05-11-2015 03:52 PM

Thank you for the conversion, but I'm actually more comfortable with metric just like the rest of the world. hahaha

Thanks! :)

RosieC 11-01-2015 09:33 AM

I love this one!

LovePhals 11-01-2015 05:43 PM

Thank you, it is budding again!! :)
