My two windowsills at present!

Thought I would share the first (of many no doubt!) set of pictures to show you my windowsill orchids :) It's a north facing window but everything seems to be doing ok for the moment, and the bit white and pink spotted Phal has rebloomed even bigger than last year so must be enjoying something. All plants have new growths appearing too and everything out of bloom gets repotted (most are shop bought when in bloom and I like to make sure they get some better substrate!)

They all seem to be doing very well. I guess your doing something right.

Your collection looks so neat! Looks like you need to get many, many more! :)

A little bit of rearranging and some new additions...really running out of room now!!

Looks great!

Gorgeous! What I wouldn't give for nice thick sills!

Very neat and nice to have so much in flower.

NYCorchidman 10-31-2014 01:49 PM

Beautiful and colorful windowsills! :)

So.....looks like the obsession really hit. They don't look so neat now, and I have stuff hanging all over the shop now! hahah! It's a bit frightening for me to look at the first few pics, and now this one taken today!!! LOL!!

They look great, you did a great job making everything look very neat. You have very nice windows :)

Optimist 07-05-2015 07:52 PM

what are those dark leaved ones rught at the chair arm? look like bulbophylum.

Biohazard156 07-06-2015 01:33 AM

Hey! It's a huge Coelogyne cristata that I won off eBay! It was much bigger than expected so doesn't fit on the actual sill. Must have like 30-40 bulbs on it and about 20 new growths. Have taken some cuttings from it and potted smaller bits to try and reduce its overall bulk!!

This kinda looks like how my windowsill turned out. :) I figured I couldn't shove any more into the sill itself so I went vertical! :) The evolution of a windowsill is always so fun! Looks great, too. Might be time to consider to dedicated shelves in front of the window!

Hahah you're so right! I thought it was full before and then seeing these comparisons I realise how wrong I was! This is as far as I can take it I think, the husband would definitely put his foot down at anything more obstructing the window! Well.... For now anyway ;-) teehee!!

gardengirl13 07-06-2015 12:40 PM

Very nice!! I love the hanging pots too! Letting the spike go natural looks very cool!

herrjanermeister 06-24-2016 02:42 PM

It looks beautifull, your plants seem to like it.
