Mandy, it is lost today. The leaves keep yellowing and all roots died. It wasn't very healthy or clean looking to begin with. I don't know if I want to try it again. Right now I'm really into vandaceous orchids, mini/compact cattleyas, and bulbos, the first two seem to do well under my care.

I am sorry. Some orchids are just on a mission to die, no matter what you do to try to stop them.

Some orchids have a bacterial infection already when you get them, and it is just going to take over and kill them no matter what you do. I have lost a few orchids this way. I used to blame myself but now I am 99% sure it was a preexisting condition.

Now I just am even MORE picky about which orchids I will buy from the store. Any even "just maybe" sign of soft rot or another illness is going to get rejected!!

So don't be too hard on yourself, Jackie!
