[QUOTE=t (I switched all my Phals to the clay balls, I am an admitted fusser and have had chronic over watering tendencies...they all seem much happier now) [/QUOTE]
I was a chronic over waterer as well. FYI, The solution for me was to obtain so many orchids that it becomes impossible to over water. I have also moved most of my phrags to clay pellets and they look the best they ever have.
Good luck with your new ones.

I'm well on my way...my husband has a bit of a compulsion and I admit I don't discourage him much lol Now I need some type of shelving because I'm rapidly running out of space but even though I've done a few google searches I can't seem to find metal shelving for plants (I'm admittedly internet challenged...).

I went vertical with my Phals and Paphs, on a pole, but still in its pots. Helped me with space, compromise with my hubby, he hates it when I start filling up windows. Glad my windows are big enough so everyone gets their fair share of dappled light.

My hubby built the stand..easy to get the post from HD then I used this pot holders to clip the pot. But the pot must have a lip to be able to hold on to the clip.
The clip is called Hang-a-pot. They have a website, hangapot.com
JMNYC - already got a compromise greenhouse for my orchids outside, using a growcamp
Lots of compromises

Just made my first online purchase so now I'm up to 20 goodness!!! The last couple I bought had good looking medium so I've left them in that and am employing the skewer method-it's been life saving for some of my plants. I'm assuming the 2 new additions will come in fresh, appropriate medium so I'll leave them alone as well. I'm enjoying playing around with the different mediums and still get my hour or so of "meditation time" before everyone else wakes up to fuss with the ones in hygroton
