Thanks all for your responses. As far as using a heat mat, I had all my phals on one for quite a while, until I learned that heat mats are generally used to promote new root growth, in particular in the beginning acclamation phase of a new transfer into S/H. So once I could see new root development in all of them, growing down into the Prime Agra, and all were 'on the same page', I took the heat mat away. I've had no issue with any negative results. (I have all my phals in S/H, and have so for nearly two years.) Like Ryan, I live in what I consider a dry environment, (VT.) and I strive to keep the humidity up around the 70% range. In the summer it's not a problem. That said, since I posted this question about transferring a mini phal into S/H, I have done so, putting it in a small drilled baby food jar, in the size leca pellet from Rays. I have it on a heat mat under supplemental lights, in an east windowsill, with another little Milt. that was gifted to me, and is struggling along. I note that the wicking action is increased, and the moisture can be seen just about up to the top pellets. The little phal had finished blooming, but when I unpotted it from the moss it was packed in, I noted only one quasi viable root that could prompt it to live. Guess it's a waiting game now...

So just to give you some perspective, I live in Colorado, where humidity is often 20% and as low as 5. So when I say low humidity I mean really really low.
