Mounting Blc. Mem Vida Lee 'Limelight' seedlings
Hi all,
So I had a cork mount that I had bought months ago that I never got around to using, and today I finally decided to mount some Blc. Mem Vida Lee 'Limelight' seedlings that I had deflasked late last year. I have dozens of them and they're doing pretty well, so I can definitely risk a few on this project and it won't be a huge deal if I lose them.
I have never mounted anything so if I did anything wrong please let me know. I put sphag around the roots because I tend to have very low humidity in my apartment.
I know that the seedlings will eventually grow and I don't know how long I can keep them all on the same mount, but I'm kinda hoping they take it over and bloom at the same time.
Let me know what you think!
I'm having second thoughts now on the amount of plants I put up there. Maybe I should have just stuck to one or two?

Think of it as a learning experiment. For now, it looks pretty cool! Well done.

It would probably be years before I have to worry about them not having enough room, but by then they'll be stuck to the mount and it'll be almost impossible to move them...
I decided to take off the three smallest ones, we'll see what happens.

At that point, just cut the mount apart and remount by tying the old piece to the new. You'd never get them disengaged, so why try? after a while, you won't be able to see the layered mount material anyway.
And, wouldn't that be a wonderful problem to have ?

Just wanted to give you guys a bit of an update on this mount. I ended up taking 3 of the seedlings off right away so the other 4 would have a little more room and I'm glad I did. They have taken off and are doing really well! They are by far the happiest of the many, many Vida Lees that I have now.
I was able to take the fishing line off after only about 4 months on the mount. Here are a few pictures of what it looks like now :]

What do you guys think?

Looks like they are very happy on that cork. The bright green and fuchsia blooms of Mem Vida Lee 'Limelight' are lovely. Had one years ago. Good luck with your mounties.
