I have been watching for sphagnum growing wild, but haven't seen any yet. Maybe I'm just not recognizing it. There are numerous mosses here and many look alike. I guess I will have to experiment with what I find. We're on an Island off Vancouver BC. I'm sure you are right. There must be sphag here somewhere. Or maybe another moss would work well enough.
