Can as an alternative container?
I have a lot of these cute cans I bought from the Japanese markets. Do you think I can reuse them as container for mini orchids? Not permanently of course. It just feel like a miss opportunity to not make the most out of these design haha.

I've wondered about using marine varnish on cans after the holes are drilled.

If the cans are aluminum, then they likely would not have a corrosion problem after the painted surface is breached.

Food safe is plant safe, and then some. Just be careful about sharp edges when cutting.
