Two problems using it dry... you break up those nice long fibers, and you also potentially breathe dust/moss spores, etc. that can cause respiratory problems. But now you'll wet it, right?

I have been messing w mounting catasetum and this might be just what I needed!!

Update on this one...decided to use a pot instead...



The result...didn't lose any bloom.

Nice! Lovely clear yellow blooms. Just repotting should do it a world of good after four years.

I do agree with ES... I wouldn't mount anything without having an auto-waterer or mister.

Edited to add: Although it goes without saying, I'll add in anyway... In my climate, under my care.
