I just sold my last little Masdie and now you almost have me convinced to try again. I did try a similar version of clay pots and thermal moisture cooling. But mine got large splotches on leaves and lost many of them which Equagenra told me was heat stress. We are able to keep things a little more humid now so that might help. Thank goodness I don't have access to any at the moment. I'd be out there buying up a bunch!

All in clay no plastic. All in moss.

The combination seems to work best for me with Masdies. I used to hate moss but masdies are the first thing I started growing in it and found it really suited them.

I only ever had heat stress in my first one before I had the greenhouse and when it was growing in plastic rather than clay.

No special fertiliser, I currently use Akerne's RAIN MIX from Europe, which I understand to be the same formulation as MSU fertiliser in the USA. Akerne advises a very weak mix with every watering. At at one point I was told that that differs from the MSU advice but I'm not sure on that.

Thanks for the details Rosie. I now am wondering if the early morning sun would be ok if I kept the roots cooler? They are all 4 doing much better now that the sun is not shinning on them in the morning. I'll bet it was cooking there roots. I will have to change things next year.

It's funny taking about cooking the roots right now as I just took all of them out of my window because it is to cold in there right now I hope I have not killed them with being to cold now.

Geez will I ever get it right. My ignea was frozen to it's saucer

I'm having the same issue. Ecuagenera is coming to the COC show in March, right?

I mailed graham at lehua and asked him to fix me up with some of his goodies he's been holding back from the public ..

I let him pick the plants. He knows what I like and he has good taste in sending plants that are nice big and plump....

And yes the RJar worlds are getting sterilized and ready for the plants. Im glad to see my RJars are in use and working for some of you. They work great in the house around the windows
