If you go there, they have MANY different kinds. A fantastic place.

I want to schedule a trip to see my daughter in Seaside... with a detour to San Fran for the flower market. I'm thinking the prices are better in the greenhouse than online. I think that one of the vendors I have been buying from gets his plants there. I recognized some of the award winners names.

I really need to go there!

There are also some in Half Moon Bay that may be worth checking out as well!

Quite nice. Reminds me of M. princeps.

Thank you Ron. I appreciate all leads on fine orchids!

Yes Paul, regina and princeps are very similar. M. princeps is going to be my next acquisition.

Unfortunately, Tom is closing his doors, and the place is mostly invitation only now. A lot of the inventory is already sold.

I have over 50 Masdevallia's and all but six came from him. He is considered by some to be the best Masdie grower in the world.

If there is something specific you are looking for, I can check for you. I see him every few weeks or so. I was just there Thursday so I might not be back for a couple weeks.

Sorry to hear about Golden Gate orchids, I thought I'd heard that recently but was hoping I'd misheard. He had the most wonderful greenhouses and operation. And I loved all the different Odontoglossum hybrids he has. Most beautiful I've seen.

I cannot remember the name of the ones in Half Moon Bay, but I thought they were somewhat affiliated with Tom Perlite's Golden Gate nursery.

Yes, it's true.

Tom is a really, really good guy. I've been very fortunate to get to know him well this year and learn a lot from him. It's very heartbreaking. But it's what he needs to do.

He had greenhouses of Masdevallia in HMB but they are totally closed now. Perhaps that is what you were thinking of.

That is heartbreaking, really. It's sad that he felt he needed to do that. All that wonderful work being dissipated. I'm not sure what the name of the places I stopped in at HMB were called. Are there any of the orchid places left out there?
