Thanks. Its hard to pinpoint the scent. I thought maybe vanilla and cinnamon. Sometimes reminds me of a lilly. Sorry thats the best I can do. Needless to say, it's unique. Usually very faint, sometimes I smell them upon approacing The case they are grown in. The number of flowers helps. They bloom the same time every year as my basement cools.

What are the summertime conditions in your basement? Do you grow under lights and adjust anything in the fall? I'd love to grow this one, but live in an apartment, so I'd have to manipulate the temps. by putting the plant in front of an open window.

Temperature ranges 72-76F in summer and 62-68F winter. I adjust nothing. I grow it in a 55gal aquarium under two T8 flourescent bulbs. It receives mist three times a day. I keep this one right under the light. Perhaps it gets some supplemetal heat from the bulb itself. This is my second one. I have kept this species for a long time and it has proven to be a very hardy plant. I don't think you need worry about temperature.
