I've seen it a few times. Don't have an explanation for it.
I've seen it even in Lepanthopsis and Platystele too.
Some growths retain the usual orientation that the inflorescence grows out of, while other growths on the same plant have inflorescences grow out in the opposite orientation.
Some species are more prone to this than others.
adaxial = upper side of leaf
abaxial = lower side of leaf
I've even seen when the inflorescence grows off to one of either side a bit too.
